All my older nephews and nieces attended a Christian based kindergarten because it is cheap, organised, have nice teachers and it is near my sister’s house. However, for one reason or another, I never thought of putting my own children there eventhough they were staying at my sister’s house during the day. Instead, I paid a lot of money to give them Montessori based education.
Now, I put my youngest son in a Christian kindie because the other kindies’ fees are ridiculously high. Some even charge the December month fee eventhough the child doesn’t go to school in that month plus all sorts of unnecessary classes fees.
So, this is the first time I personally see what exactly is a Christian run kindergarten. It is cute to see the little children being taught to say thanks before meal. It is a loud, chirpy, cheerful, sing song way of thanking God for the food, the earth, the birds and etc. The children ended with In Jesus Name, we pray. Amen.
The first time I heard it, I was like “WOW….”. But that wasn’t my first experience. During the school holiday, when I went to register my son, there was a worship and praise session for the arts and crafts playgroup. I was whispering with my second son, “OMG, the praise and worship is more dashyat (oomph?) than our charismatic prayer group. So intense and serious!”
Well, Christian run kindies have their very good points because the teachers are all very dedicated as they are sharing their faith, and not just working for a salary. You can feel the love the teachers have for the little ones.
However, it does take a little bit of getting used to if you have never been exposed to Christians way of praising God. It is like a huge, loud, united, happy, *beyond description* way of saying they love Jesus. This is coming from me, a Catholic who is more sedated, quiet and conservative.
Personally, I am so happy and relieved to see how much my little boy loves going to school. He cannot wait to go to school and enjoys every moment. For that, I must thank God for the blessings.
BTW, don’t worry, your kids won’t be converted to Christianity if you have a different faith. All are God’s will.

That’s why my kids are sent to my church’s kindergarten and child care service. And by the way, Sunday Schools nowadays are quite boisterous in their praise. Times have change but worship remains
