Serious! Christian missionaries who became someone else dinner.
I watched Anthony Bourdain show yesterday. He traveled to Bali. Let me put on Youtube video here. However, this is not the series I watched.
Anyway, this Bali guy was taking Anthony around and showed him some ruins. According to the guy, the missionary (Christian missionaries, I presume?) folks chopped off the ’sex’ of the statues. ‘Sex’ = phallus. So, Anthony asked the guy what happened to the missionary and the Bali guy said, “In the cooking pot.” Well, I suppose it was a long time ago, and cannibalism existed then?
This issue has been swirling in my mind for a while already. Today, Christians still get killed in certain parts of the world like India, China and other places but they are rarer now. (I read that in the weekly newsletter.) So, I was asking myself, does this means that people who live in current times have less chance to become saints?
They don’t get eaten. They don’t get burnt on the stake. They don’t die in the middle of the ocean, traveling to far away countries or something dramatic like that. They just live comfortably. Oh maybe, the only thing they can do is to lead protests or get stuffed into ISA. Bah, just ignore me. All these injustice, silly ping-pong games, poker bluff and etc really tire me out. On one hand, I just want to get on with my life doing daily stuffs. On the other hand, those morons and their actions pissed the hell out of me. Just when I want to forget all about dirty politics, something is bound to crop up and makes me rant again.
