Don Moen - I offer my life
May 9th, 2008 by lilian
Don Moen. That’s the first ever Christian CD I bought. Back then, there is no Youtube so I have to fork out a lot of money to get an original CD. This is one of the song that often touches me.
Anyway…today is the 6th day of the 9-day Novena I am attending. I wish I can find something inspiring to reflect but unfortunately….I was inspecting the number of veins I have on my hands and my mind wanders and wanders. I wonder if the doctor will have problem finding a vein in case he needs to insert an IV line for me. Then, I wonder which vein brings oxygen from my heart to the tip of my fingers and which brings back the carbon dioxide.
After that, I am glad I live in an area where it is out of the ‘territory’. Hence, I do not need to deal with neighbourliness stuffs. Me thinks people can get competitive sometimes between their zones. Phew…..I hope where I belong, they wouldn’t come knocking on my door to find me and drag me to their neighbourly-chummy meetings and a church that I have been there only once. Not that I am a hermit but I like to remain invisible for now. When I have a complete family in Christ, that’s when I can open my doors for such chummy stuffs, but not right now.
So, what shall day 7 and 8 brings me? Shall I attend day 9? Talking about the feastday, A (church choir member) told me that he is disappointed that our church choir is not singing on the parish feastday. Well….I know A as the miracle man who fell into a coma after a bike accident, paralysed and by faith, recovered. If A can come to me and talk to me about it, I guess he must be real disappointed? Me? I am actually glad that I don’t need to attend choir practice every Sundays for months and months just to sing like 6-8 songs in an hour. And again, me thinks it is all about *whisper mode* competition again. Like, your group did it last year, my group must do it this year. Eeekk…I better stay off these sort of politics.
So, can I say I offer my life to you, Lord? I guess I offer three quarter for now? Maybe more in future.
