According to Malaysiakini, Father Paulino is charged for illegal assembly. Excerpt from Malaysiakini below.

Twenty one people were charged with illegal assembly at the Petaling Jaya magistrate’s court this morning.

They also faced a second charge of failing to adhere to a police order to disperse.

Catholic priest Paulino Miranda was also one of the 21 charged this morning.

This just make us wonder…..they certainly have a lot of time to get to the bottom of this case, isn’t it? It is not like this is such an emergency situation where the case has to be dealt with so fast. It is not like our country does not have other more pressing issues, more serious crimes and more threatening things.

News like these just make us more determined to do our part. Whatever, or however little we do, will somehow make a difference one day.

I have read Father Paulino’s personal account on how he was detained that night. The article written by Father Paulino himself was published in one of the Catholic monthly magazine. From my point of view, it is just a silly case of authorities trying to intimidate the general public.

We are with you, Father. We are with all those whom have been unjustly treated. We are praying for justice to prevail in our country.
