Sometime back, my choir group wanted to contribute to a charity drive by opening a store for a food fair. So, there was a brainstorming session on what to sell and I suggested tomyam meehoon. Initially, I thought it is kid’s play to make them in bulk and sell for charity. However, we later found out that we need to make 700 packets and make sure we sell them off in order to earn the targetted amount we wanted.

By then, I had been assigned the official ‘chef’ and everyone thought I am superwoman who can deal with it. I wasn’t worried because I don’t think it is that difficult to do. Our choir group has about 40 people and if we plan well, we should be able to handle the job. However, I am lucky that tomorrow, 1st July 2007, I am saved from doing it. It is because the main organising committee wanted to make the event really huge and hire real hawkers to do the cooking.

So, I am only asked to just sell the thing. Pretty easy. Saves me the sweats. Tomorrow, from 8.30 am to 12.30 noon I will be selling mee mamak or Indian fried noodle.

Thank God for getting me out of the frying pan! I hope I don’t end up in the hot sun. God, please give me a shaded, aircond location.
