What else is new? But I couldn’t do it on my personal blog because it is too revealing and personal. I don’t want to get my rants read by the people whom I am ranting about. So here goes…

What kind of faith teaches their followers to place so much emphasis on the dead?

What kind of faith teaches their followers to ignore the more important thing – i.e. celebrating someone’s joy?

What kind of faith stats that their followers must die-die meditate and pray for 49 days so that the deceased will get to whatever-place-they-are-suppose to go, while ignoring a more important event, i.e. being with the family to share their joy?

What kind of faith will blind the followers to the fact that the deceased would probably be much happier to see his family being together to celebrate something joyful instead of them being scattered all over to mourn his death? Come on! The deceased is way past 80 yrs old and I am sure he will be smiling from heaven to see his family together, happy.

I am utterly disappointed that they failed to know their priority.

Or are they just being hostile because the person whom they are suppose to celebrate with, is now a Christian? Another case of ‘betrayal’? We Christain converts get these kind of ‘boycott’, you know?

Anyway…I will then go the extra 500 miles to celebrate with the one who is suppose to have his most joyful day. Not just because he is a Christian. Though I am very joyful with that fact, alleluia! But because I am the senior relative and I know it will mean a lot to the people who are celebrating his wedding.

Bah, as if chanting for that length of time will purify hearts when simple family obligations aren’t fulfilled.
