One of my brother works in the civil service. And not just any civil service but some department that plays a significance role in some big cases. Of course, he doesn’t and will not ever tell me what he knows from within. But then, long time ago, like 10 years ago, we also did not bother to ask. *hints* Now, he too will not tell me if the accusations are true.

Recently, he has followed my blog and once in a while….he would call me and warned me to not touch on certain issues. Ok, I did tone down for a few days and then, I couldn’t hold my tongue and I start again. I am glad he is retiring soon because it is hard not to blog what I want to say.

Another big brother too phoned me when he feels I get a little bit too daring for my own good.

Actually, I don’t really care about their warnings because since I was a kid, I had grown up pretty much on my own. Now that I am in my fourties, it is hard for them to tell me anymore. But for their sake, I tried my best. It is a little bit like them telling me not to run barefooted around our kampung back in Bayan Lepas. But I still did. Hehehe.

I am not sure what they are afraid of. Of me getting hauled up by the authorities? Nay, I always repeat what the media said. I never allow sensitive comments to pass through. And I won’t be afraid if I really do get into trouble.

Today, I picked up the latest issue of The Herald and Archbishop Murphy Pakiam’s message on National Day just sort of nudge me. It is alright to be vocal. It is ok to blog what my heart tells me to.

Christians must be conscious of their specific and proper role in the political community.….. (the whole article is too long for me to type, so go Google to find out)

The next time my older relatives chided me again, I am going to secretly remind myself that it is my Christian duty to babble. And blog I will. I have always been mindful of my words, writing with the aim of bridging the gaps, putting forth my dissatisfaction and always have faith in God’s big plan for all humankind.

At worst, I may be martyr St. Lilian. Bwahahaha.
