Karma, your karching (your arse)
by lilian ~ February 15th, 2006
You know nothing annoys me more than people who goes around quoting karma. Even Christians do that all the time talking about ”You reap what you sow.’ It all boils down to the same thing. Cursing others.
And yet many of these Christians have these holy-moly outlook that it is ok for them to go around using this quote. Well take it this way. If you believe in karma it is the same as you go to a person in a wheel chair whom had been crippled due to an accident and tell him in his face ‘Serves you right you must have done something horribly wrong and you are now reaping what you sow. Is that acceptable?
I have people not just one but several who talked to me about karma. One of them is a nurse. This inconsiderate woman was the nurse in the ICU. I was a Buddhist practicing Taoism at that time. She said “I believe in karma and past life.” So I asked her “If you do tell me what sins have my baby done to deserve suffering like these?” Arrggh…I hate her right there and then. I lost faith my previous faith since then. One of my relative too shoved that karma stuffs to me when I was desperately clinging on to hopes of my son getting better. She said that previously my father-in-law was a very bad tempered man and didn’t like to mix with others. She told me this in the ICU with the machine beeping away when my son was dying. If you are in my shoes do you take it that my poor little baby had to suffer because of some bad behaviours of his great grandparents and parents?
So if I ever hear of anyone who quoted karma in a serious manner they are as good as dead in my list of friends to make. I do love to use the word karma but only in jokes. I even have a blog name Karma Karmeleon simply because I can’t think of any names for it. Karma reminds me of Boy George and nothing else. Therefore friends if you are ever in trouble remember that these are things we have to go through in life. It is NOT just your karma. It is not a punishment. It is part of the world. Even Lord Buddha has said that to live is to suffer. The Christians believe in doing God’s will even if it is hard to carry. We don’t see hardships as punishments from God because our God is the forgiving and loving God.

I took heart in Lord Jesus comforting words that God only choose the brave the strong and the wise to carry the burdens. So to all the widows bereaved parents like me and those afflicted with terminal diseases and other extreme hardships we should keep reminding ourselves that God has hand-picked us to carry these burdens which inevitably has to happen. Someone has to carry these and we happened to have stronger muscles to do so.
And please hold closely to Jesus’s words of ‘All you who are burdened…..come to Me.’ His ever loving presence in our lives will carry us through the hard times. The only way one can feel the presence of Jesus is to take Him as a personal saviour. He is within each of us around us and knows our hearts inside out. Whether you know it or not. ‘Do not be afraid’ is what Jesus told his disciples when they were caught in a storm. For He is with us.
So if you are a Christian stop using the curse of ‘You reap what you sow’ on another. It is equivalent to cursing which as we know is a sin. And never be afraid to rebuke another for God’s sake. For it is right to uphold the faith. Watch your comments because I don’t fancy hearing more karma talks ‘Karma your karchng!’ (karchng means arse)
- Christians who try to evangelize in hours of intense grief or worrying times are like vultures Bwahaha....this is my opinon and I don't care if anyone is offended with it. I am not interested to
