Losing my voice just before lectoring
by lilian ~ August 17th, 2007
I have lector’s duty on Sunday morning. The mass is at 7 am and normally, I will be awake by 6 am so that I can regain my normal voice in time for my lector’s duty. As I am afraid of oversleeping, I will be tossing in bed from 5 am.
So, you see, I am very paranoid about regaining my voice in time for lector’s duty. But guess what? I just have a cold yesterday and today is already Friday. I cannot afford to lose my voice because it is too near my duty and my fellow lectors aren’t going to be pleased if I ask them at this last minute to takeover my duty. Moreover, not many people will volunteer for the morning mass.

So, God, please watch my voice for me, ok? I am too timid to ask for change of duty.
