All I can say to this piece of news is ‘Oh dear…’
In a surprise move on Saturday night, the pope baptized the 55-year-old, Egyptian-born Allam at an Easter eve service in St Peter’s Basilica that was broadcast around the world.
And I wonder what will happen now that this made public?
Allam, the author of numerous books, said he realised that his conversion would likely procure him “another death sentence for apostasy,” or the abandoning of one’s faith.
But he said he was willing to risk it because he had “finally seen the light, thanks to divine grace”.
You can read more about it on Reuters.
By the way, I was converted five years ago and today, Easter 2008 is the fifth year I celebrate the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is such a joyous occasion for me because there is nothing more glorious than to be called the son/daughter of God. Praise be to God.
