Over here, I notice that so many nursing homes are sprouting up like mushrooms after the rain. They can be found in residential areas and even rich millionaire rows. Many years back, when my mother-in-law was in a coma after her stroke, we had difficulties locating a nice nurisng home for her. It is very tough to take care of her ourselves as she was totally dependent on caregivers to insert feeding tubes and to take great care of her to avoid bedsores.
So, I can empathise with people who need to find nursing home for their loved ones. One has to take into considerations many factors like the price, the location, administration and the general feeling there. I have seen many miserable looking old folks where my mother-in-law stayed and it is very sad to see them looking glum and feeling neglected.
We had been warned that in future, this problem will escalate because children nowadays are not keen to take care of their aging parents as most of them have been brought up at daycare when they were small. Well, I don’t know about this theory but I do think that do make a great impact on the relations, don’t you think so?

Just got a chance to visit your blog and read this post. Yes, I agreed. I have the same struggling when my mom was sick while I have little time to take care of her due to work. Grateful to God that I have my dad around to take care of her and now she is much better. Furthermore, as a married daughter, sometimes I may need my hubby’s involvement as well. I was once felt so sorry to my hubby because of trouble him often to bring my mom to the hospital follow-ups while I can’t stay away from my office during working hours.
