I picked up this news from http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2008-02/19/content_7630447.htm about :

A Florida pastor has posed an unusual challenge to members of his church — 30 days of sex for married couples and 30 days of abstaining for singles, local media reported Monday.

Head Pastor Paul Wirth of Relevant Church said Sunday the challenge is aimed at bringing couples closer together. He told his congregation that half of all marriages end in divorce.

They have even set up a www.30daysexchallenge.com website for this purpose.

In my opinion, it is one of those new age, religion is how we dictate it type of faith. Though the purpose is good, I think it is rather wacky to implement this 30 days rule.

Anyway, I hope the challenge does really bring couples together. But I hope people won’t think that all Christians need promptings from their respective churches and God to have sex?

  1. I can’t agree with his views. What’s the use of sex if the couple is loveless or doing it out of chore? Again, why stop at 30 days for the singles? I think the church’s views (as examplified by the Pastor) is somehow a bit unbiblical. I just hope that he was misquoted by the press.
