Special prayers for the ‘Allah issue’

I have received several emails to notify me about the special prayers to be held in my church on Friday. Let me copy what Andre mailed to me :

There will be a day of prayer this friday (17th July) at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, Greenlane, Penang. The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed after 7am Mass in the chapel. You can come to pray silently or have organized prayer in the chapel to pray for Fr Lawrence Editor for the Herald) and the Herald. At 3pm, there will be the chaplet of Divine Mercy followed by Benediction.

So if you have time, come and pray. and please tell your catholic friends and family about this.

If you are not in penang and receiving this mail, do keep us and our government in prayer. and if you know any malaysian friends, you can forward this to them.

There are so many of such incidences of religious intolerance happening around our country. Just a while ago, I read that some Christians were wrongly detained by the police on suspicions of spreading Christianity. Another one is the illegal demolition of an Orang Asli church. Then, there is the Al Islam case.

Somehow, I can find connection to Prophet Joshua. How faithful Joshua was to God and keep believing in something that he probably would not believe. Just like me, I don’t have faith anymore in finding justice for ourselves. But, as good Christians, I suppose we have to place our trust and faith in God.

My little boy often tell me how brave Joshua is. His kindie is named after Joshua generation and hence, his teacher tells a lot of stories about Joshua which he will relate to me after school.

I hope all of us have the same faith like Joshua.

I hope we have the same faith how the walls of Jericho fell.

I hope our collective faith will move mountains and storm heavens. It is not about a mere word but a test of how united we are in our faith and trust in God.

So, dear brothers and sisters in Christ, please pray for wisdom to prevail and justice uphold.
