It is an obligation day tomorrow, May 1st because it is the Ascension of the Lord. I have lector’s duty and have this extremely long sentence to read. God help me. I had been practising and this para here really makes me think and imagine…

When he had said this, as they were looking on,
he was lifted up, and a cloud took him from their sight.
While they were looking intently at the sky as he was going,
suddenly two men dressed in white garments stood beside them.
They said, “Men of Galilee,
why are you standing there looking at the sky?
This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven
will return in the same way as you have seen him going into heaven.”

So, this group of 12 people and maybe a lot more were standing there looking up the sky…..

and these two guys in white there probably made them feel rather silly. It is like, “Hey dude, what are you guys doing here, with your mouths open like that?”

It must be a very amazing thing, like the Close Encounter of the Third kind (movie in 1977) when the space ship came down. Except that this time, it is Jesus going up, with all the bright lights and stuffs.

And I wonder when is the next big COMING?

So, don’t forget your obligation day tomorow. Obligation means Christians must make it to church. There are only a few obligation days, i.e. in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei :

* The Ascension of Our Lord
* The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
* All Saints’ Day
* Christmas

My son taught me – Three As and one C. Other countries Catholics observe more/less days. You can find the list from Wiki.
