Last year, my choir group planned to set up a stall in a food fair. I volunteered and later found out that we need to fry 700 packets of tom yum bee hoon. Lucky the main organiser thinks we are not competent enough and hire a real char koay teow stall. I helped in collecting the coupon and got sick for a week after that due to the heat of the wok and the sun. Doh.
Now, I was recruited into the committee in charge of meals for the 200 priests from around the region for the College General Bicentennial celebration. 200 priests, five meals. And then, another 800 guests for a buffet lunch. I heard the CM is going too. Our committee just had the final inventory meeting and realised that we are going to buy 300 eggs to serve in the breakfast. Yes, the dear ladies undertook to prepare a hearty, American breakfast for the priests. Never mind, we are willing, the Lord will provide the strength.
Middle of this month, I am going to prepare dinner for 60 youths for their confirmation camp. Two other moms will help in cooking a dish each.
Well, 60 youths is easy-peasy because I had done it a few times before. At the rate I am going, I will be a terror-merror caterer one day.
Oh ya, I offered to help the Lighthouse prepare meals for the homeless too. But Vincent told me there is a long waiting list like 2 months before I get my chance. He said I have to cook for at least 90 people. I chickened out but hope to find a group to do that one day. It should be fun.
Anyway, I thank God for the opportunity to be part of the huge event. Sometimes, a willingness to say ‘Yes’ does bring us lots of adventures. I just told my son that I am going to have the opportunity of a lifetime to ogle 200 priests from around the world while serving them 300 eggs LOL. He told me I need help (of a shrink to examine my head, i.e.).

Live by Faith. Say “Yes” first and the Lord will provide the means. This is what one of the ladies shared at our recent BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) session. If you never take that step of obedience in faith, God cannot come into picture and show us His grace. Go ahead and submit everything to Him in prayer. All will turn out well. That includes your Ammerican breakfast! Have Fun!

I like your blogs especially this one. I was not a serious christian not too long ago and only go to church only during Christmas day. Sometimes this year I asked God for help and guidance when I was so lost and weak and He answered me the way things suppose to be and you know it is the best way to do. I pray everyday since then and never missed my church service. Sometimes we thought that it is all over for us and there is no hope but when we ask God for help something nice will happen, things will turn out well when we least notice it. But I know I must continue to praise the Lord and pray to Him everyday in my life..

andru – Thank you for sharing. This is very inspiring to a lot of us.
Deb – Yes, I am really looking forward to it. I am sure all the nice ladies from the churches will be there to help so nothing is impossible, right?
domino – I also believe in a leap of faith. Been doing that and so far, it works for me.
