I am a little glad to read on Malaysiakini that the 10 persons they detained have been released on humanitarian ground’.
Freed on ‘humanitarian ground’
Police said the 10 were released to enable them to celebrate Deepavali, said the New Straits Times online.
“Although the police, under the law, could extend their remand orders to facilitate investigations, on humanitarian ground they were released to enable them to celebrate the festive occasion,” the spokesman said.
However, what I want to reflect on is not just this issue but the politicians from PAS. Long ago, due to the bad publicity given by the mainstream media and the very much hyped issues by the MSM, many of us Chinese are very fearful of PAS.
Then, along came some UMNO politicians who are much scarier than the wrong perception we had of PAS politicians. I watched it live on TV how the UMNO politicians waved their keris and with a vengeful look, with veins bulging on their face and neck, proclaimed they will wash the keris with blood if they have to.
Those episodes have caused me to re-look again. And I noticed that PAS politicians are ‘a-ok’ after all. One of them have made the first visit to a Catholic church. Many of the younger generations PAS leaders are all much more intelligent and have common sense than the other party.
Gobind Singh Deo, peguam yang mewakili kumpulan itu kelihatan tiba di Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah Putrajaya kira-kira jam 11 pagi, diiringi enam peguam lain, demikian menurut Bernama.
Turut mengiringi mereka ialah ahli Parlimen Shah Alam, Ir Khalid
Abdul Samad, dan ahli Parlimen Kuala Selangor Dr Dzulkifli Ahmad.
Ir Khalid was the MP from PAS who visited the Catholic church in Klang. Now, Ir Khalid is the one who showed his (and PAS) support to the 10 Indians who were detained. I read on another news that yesterday :
Yesterday, a few top leaders of the Islamic opposition party, including vice-president Husam Musa (left), visited the police station where the detainees were held in a show of support.
I personally think if if every one of the politicians serve with their hearts and guided by their faith, none of us citizens will have to endure sufferings and injustice like the Hindraf-5, all the detainees in ISA including RPK and the recently detained by released 10 Indians. I believed these caring politicians have the Almighty as their guide.
Unfortunately, when people sell their souls to Money, Power and Greed, they cannot rule and judge with a clear mind and many people have to suffer. So, let us pray to our Divine Being that all of us will be rule with fairness, justice, respect for humankind and if it is not too corny to say, love and understanding.
To all my Hindu readers (as if I have any LOL), Happy Deepavali and I rejoice with all of you as you celebrate light over evil. It is my pledge to continue in my small and humble ways to help fight for justice, equality and all the causes you are all fighting for.
The above is the Deepavali card I sent to Uthayakumar in Kamunting. I hope he gets it and my prayers go to all the family members of the detainees as I believed they need all the strength, courage, patience and love to spend this Deepavali without their fathers/brothers/uncles who are in ISA.
