Updated : Right after I posted this, Malaysiakini has an article on Moving Beyond Race. In the article, this sentence caught my sight.
“In Malaysia, if it is a Malay issue it is a national issue; if it is a Chinese issue, it is a racial issue; if it is an Indian issue, it is a non-issue.”
There are many things that I cannot stand in life such as lies and double standard. And these are the things our ruling powers are shoving down our throats. Such blatant abuse of power where they apply laws not according to what law is supposed to be, but rather which group we belong to.
Some weeks back when Teresa Kok was first detained under ISA, I voiced my concerns to a clergy who understands my quirky attitude and opinions towards things. I told him that I have the ‘vision’ of Teresa being given a harder time because of two factors. Now, I think what I had predicted is unfolding right in front of our eyes. Now, it is not only two factors but more. My concerns earlier were Teresa being a Chinese and a Christian. Now, it seems one more thing comes into the evil plan of ‘theirs’. Teresa is a woman. I believe her role as a politician seemed to be overshadowed by these racists, sexist and religious bias towards her.
It is disgusting how the real wrong-doers, and there are many of them, seem to get away scot free while she was the one being persecuted. It is a blatant show of arrogance by the powers up there who can just do what they want, including inciting hates and hinting killing off people. These people know they are immune to this thing we call law. They are the superior human beings.
These are touchy and sensitive issues, as spelt out by ‘them’. Nothing we, the ‘inferior group’ can do because they will start their defence of ‘menghina this, menghina that’. It is disgusting, appalling and downright bullying. One has to go down the path of Teresa Kok if one choose to fight it. So, there isn’t much I can do as an individual except to stand by the side, pray for justice and take comfort that there are many real caring, wise folks around to support her. I pray that YB Teresa Kok will remains unfazed and the Lord will shelter and keep her and her family in His shadow.
Oh ya, it is times like these when I thoroughly feel comforted that God often reminds us that justice is in His hands and we know we do not need to defend Him but instead, He will come to us and defend us.
Psalm 3 sounds like a great relief. You can read the meaning of Psalm 3 here.
Psalm 3
A psalm of David. When he fled from his son Absalom.
1 O LORD, how many are my foes!
How many rise up against me!2 Many are saying of me,
“God will not deliver him.”
Selah [a]3 But you are a shield around me, O LORD;
you bestow glory on me and lift [b] up my head.4 To the LORD I cry aloud,
and he answers me from his holy hill.
Selah5 I lie down and sleep;
I wake again, because the LORD sustains me.6 I will not fear the tens of thousands
drawn up against me on every side.7 Arise, O LORD!
Deliver me, O my God!
Strike all my enemies on the jaw;
break the teeth of the wicked.8 From the LORD comes deliverance.
May your blessing be on your people.
Selah

This is a great post
It’s good to be reminded that God is a God of justice and will not let those who love evil get away scot-free with the spoils of their ill-gotten gains. I have no sympathies for those who abuse the laws to oppress others, especially leaders who are supposed to be protecting the people instead of corruptly enriching themselves at the expense of the suffering citizens. Having said that, I believe God is merciful and will never turn away who truly seek him and want to turn away from evil.
Your post reminded me of this book I am planning to reread called “The Cure For A Troubled Heart – meditations on Psalm 37″ by Ron Mehl. It’s a really good book for me because it reminds me to keep looking to God for the answers, to trust Him, to rest in Him. If you’re looking for new books to add to your collection, I can’t recommend this one enough.

Hi Sal – Thanks for the comment and I will look out for the book. I doubt I can find it at bookstores here but maybe I will look it up at the college library.
